Joseph Roth
All around talented multi sport athlete starred at Rochester’s Washington High School… All-Scholastic soccer player in 1939… also excelled in basketball, baseball, bowling, and participated in gymnastics, track, and billiards. Served in US Air Force from 1941-1945 as navigator of a B29 airplane in Pacific corridor during WWII. Earned rank of Lieutenant. Post service moded to Indianapolis, Indiana with wife Bess, became excellent bowler and golfer. Led B’nai B’rith league in scoring with near 200 average and helped team win numerous championships. took up golf at age 40 earning 5 handicap. Has “shot his age” or less over 50 times!
