Dick Zweig

Dick starred in both football and wrestling, during the late 60s, at Irondequoit High School. He was an All County football selection on both defense and offense and co-captained the Indians’ wrestling team in his senior year, becoming both the Monroe County and Section V champion.

Later he co-captained the wrestling team at the University of Pennsylvania, earning designation as All IVY League in his weight class and was named Penn’s Scholar Athlete of the Year.

In 1975, Zweig was selected to the USA wresting team that competed against the Soviet Union. In 1977, he won the Silver Medal at the World Maccabiah Games in Israel. From 1985 to 1990, the former Irondequoit resident wrestled steers in rodeos.
