One of the most outstanding tennis players ever to come out of the Rochester area, he won the Monroe County High School singles championship four years running while participating for Brighton High. Marty also won the Section V singles title twice. In 1977, at Haverford College, he was selected a Division III All American. He was also an outstanding competitor in squash.
