Rochester Jewish Sports Hall of Fame

Steve, a Farmington L.I. native, made his mark in three sports: lacrosse, handball and racquetball. At Farmington High, he starred as a lacrosse goalie, later helping lead SUNY Cortland to the national Division III championship in 1973. The Brighton resident continues to play that sport in an over 45 league.

Taking up handball at age 35, Abramson won an area B division doubles championship, and a C division singles title. He eventually switched to racquetball and has won four A division doubles tournaments, one C division singles championship, and and one B division championship.
