Richard Ben Cramer

Son of the late Robert Cramer, a prominent pharmacist, and Blossom Cramer who resides in Brighton, Richard Ben Cramer won a Pulitzer Prize in 1979 for his outstanding reportage from the Middle East while working for the Philadelphia Inquirer. After leaving the Inquirer, he wrote magazine articles for the New York times Magazine, Esquire and other publications. He is best known today for the books he has authored including “Ted Williams: The Seasons of the Kid” and “Joe DiMaggio: The Hero’s Life.” He also wrote “For What it Takes: an insider’s look on presidential politics. He also served for a time as an editor of Sports Illustrated.

Today Cramer resides on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with his wife and daughter.
