Naomi Silver

Naomi,the daughter of the late Morrie Silver who helped save International League Baseball in Rochester in 1956 when the St. Louis Cardnals dropped the franchise, has followed in her father’s footsteps as a pillar of support for the community owned baseball team. She served as Vice President of the Rochester Red Wings from 1989 to 1999, becoming the club’s Chief Operating Officer in 1995, a position that she still holds. Naomi is also Chairman of the Board the Red Wings since her election in 1990.

The Rochester native is also the chief operating officer of RBC Enterprises, the concessions and catering subsidiary of the ball club. Naomi also played a major role in the planning and construction of Frontier Field.

In 1994, she was elected Rawling’s Woman Executive of the Year for minor league baseball. She was also named the Woman of the Year by the Rochester Chapter, National Association of Woman Business Owners.

Furthermore, in 2008, Naomi was selected Minor League Executive of the Year by “Baseball America,” a publication devoted to baseball in general and the minor leagues in particular. She was the first female to win this distinguished award since it was established in 1994.

Naomi was also awarded the Rochester Sports for Israel Distinguihed Service Award, along with her mother Anna Silver and the late Elliot Curwin, in 1996.
