Michael Levin

Mike Levin professional lacrosse and star football player

A graduate of Pittsford Mendon HS in 2000, where he lettered in lacrosse (3), football (2) and basketball (1)…All-American and first team All-county as a lacrosse goalie. Mike was a key member of the Western Empire State Games team in 1998 and 1999. Captained the football team as their star quarterback and Captain of the basketball team, while achieving National Honor Society recognition.
He continued his elite lacrosse goal tending career at Brown University 2001-2004, where he was a three-time All-Ivy section, earning first team status as a sophomore and senior. Mike earned honors of The New England player of the Year (2004) and first team All-New England honors twice. He led the Ivy League in goals against average in 2004, allowing just 7.63 goals per game and posted an Ivy League leading .605 save percentage. He was drafted in the second round of the 2004 Major League Lacrosse draft, being the 11th pick overall, by the Baltimore Bayhawks. Mike also played for Philadelphia before joining the Rochester Rattlers.
Mike became one of the best goalies in MLL and had a sparkling 12.20 goals against average playing for Rochester in his first year. In 2008, the Rattlers won their first and only MLL championship by defeating the Philadelphia Barrage 16–15 in overtime in the semifinals and the Denver Outlaws 16–6 in the championship game. After the 2008 season, the team was dissolved. The Rattlers’ staff and roster was transferred to the new Toronto Nationals franchise. Based on economic considerations and travel expenses of the league, Michael currently plays for the Boston Cannons, where he resides.
