Dick Chait

While attending Charlotte high School in the 1950’s, Richard Chait won varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball, captaining the Basketball team in 1954. He was second team All-Scholastic in basketball in both 1953 and 1954, and second team All-Scholastic in football in 1954. Chait went on to RPI where he played varsity basketball in 1956-57-58 and varsity baseball in 1957. He was the co-captain of the Engineers Basketball team in in ’58 and earned Conference (ECAC) Honorable Mention for Division III.

Following his graduation from RPI, he enrolled at Syracuse and earned a Ph.D. in solid state science. Chait is now (2001) the director of research and laboratory management at the Pentagon for the U.S. Army.
