Charlie Lewis- outstanding swimmer in high school and at West Point

Charlie attended Pittsford Sutherland High School and earned a Varsity Letter for four years, in a very large way. Charlie excelled in both the Butterfly and Backstroke. In, 2000 Charlie was the Pittsford team Captain and MVP. Charlie was also a Lester B. Harrison winner, U.S. Committee Sports for Israel, in 2000.
Charlie earned All-American Academic honors in 2000, in the 200yd Medley Relay 1st Team (1999-2000) and 200yd Free Relay Honorable Mention (2000).
Furthermore, Charlie was a key member of the NYS Section 5 Champion Team in 1998-99-2000. He was one of the New York State Champion members in the 200 Medley Relay in both 1999 and 2000 and was the NYS Runner-up in the Butterfly in 2000, with a time of 51.88 seconds.
Charlie was an eight time Section 5 champion in various events: Backstroke, Butterfly, 200yd Medley and 200yd Free Relay. In 2000, he was named the Swimmer of the Meet.
Competing in the Pan-American Maccabi Games in 1999, Charlie was the youngest member of the Open delegation. He won a Gold Metal in the 400yd freestyle relay, a Silver Metal in the 100yd Backstroke and a Bronze Metal in the 200yd Backstroke.
In the fall of 2000, Charlie continued his stellar swimming career at the United States Military Academy. Remarkably, Charlie was one of only two freshmen who made the Varsity team and earned four Varsity letters. In 2000, Charlie helped his teammates win the Patriot League Team Championship. Charlie had multiple Championship Finals in the 100yd Backstroke and multiple Championship Consolation Finals in the 100yd Butterfly and 200yd Backstroke.
Charlie was on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2003-2004. He was just 1 of 4 Patriot League Men’s Swimmers with a GPA of 4.0 in 2004. Charlie also won the Eastern College Athletic Conference Merit award in 2004.
